The heart of the village has kept the aspect it had at the beginning of the last century, with its small squares, its narrow streets, some remains of its ramparts and the porch dating from the 17th century. The castle, built around 1600, looks like a massive quadrilateral, flanked by turrets. Sold during the Revolution, it is not open to visitors. Bassan is home to a small jewel: the church of Saint Pierre aux Liens. From the 12th century, it is fortified and has murals that have been restored in 2013. In addition to this rich heritage, Bassan has always been marked by the culture of wine, still very present today.
