Between the Cevennes and the Cèze valley, between Alès and Bagnols sur Cèze, Seynes is one of the smallest villages in the department (163 inhabitants). Dating from the Neolithic period, its name comes from Statumae, a name found on a stele from the1st century, found in 1747. It is a perfect setting for a pleasant holiday thanks to its location at the crossroads of one of the major axes of the Gard. It backs onto Mount Bouquet (629 m) on its southern side, which houses a chapel. The place is particularly appreciated for all styles of climbing on 360 different routes, hiking and paragliding. The village dates back to the Neolithic period (remains of the cave of the 3 bears).
