Like many of its neighbors, several Gallo-Roman remains were found Saint-Martin-Lacaussade. The "pentus" and "nipples" (coteaux) were suitable for wine-growing operations, a tradition that is still very present to date. The village was on the road to Santiago de Compostela, also a place of passage for pilgrims. The templière church built in the xiith century has been restored several times. The square and massive bell is worth a look. Note that the village derives its name from the bishop of Tours Saint Martin and that Lacaussade comes from a Latin deformation that meant "road".
