Between Nîmes and Avignon, 2 km from Remoulins, Saint-Bonnet-du-Gard deserves a stop. This small village on the road to the Pont du Gard via the RN86 benefits from the underground springs that feed the Gardon. On one side of the main road, picturesque houses of the Gard meander up the hill to the 12th century Templar church. On the other, a local rarity, a magnificent fountain wash-house, which was commissioned by Napoleon I at the beginning of the 19th century. Nearby, the starting point of the GR6 which leads to the famous aqueduct, there is a multi-service grocery store and a good pizzeria.
