Located in the town of Méjannes-le-Clap, the Grotte de la Salamandre is a superb natural cave decorated with splendid titanic concretions set in light and sound. Place particularly committed to the preservation of the natural environment, the cave inaugurates this month of June a new photovoltaic equipment allowing him to be the first in Europe to be lit by the sun. The installation offers a quasi energy autonomy, and has for function to feed the reception building, the restaurant, the souvenir store as well as the luminous scenography inside the cave. The initiative reinforces the many efforts of this flagship site of the Gard to protect nature. More information on the website of the Grotte de la Salamandre
