Located between Villandraut and Saint-Symphorien, Saint-Léger-de-Balson or Balzon takes its name from one of the last Merovingian saints. Once belonging to the Albret family, it was a village well known in the past for its great fair held on June 1st and for its pilgrimage to the fountain of Saint-Clair or Saint-Clar which cured eye diseases. The church, built in 1511, has murals depicting Christ in majesty, symbols of the Evangelists and figures representing the months of the year.
