Saint-Julien-Beychevelle is located in the canton of Pauillac, on the Gironde estuary, on the Route des Châteaux, 42 kilometers north of Bordeaux. This is the village that gives its name to the Saint-Julien appellation, which may not be the best-known in the Médoc, but whose vineyards nevertheless cover 920 hectares. The ports of Saint-Julien and Beychevelle are charming. This small commune of less than 1,000 inhabitants counts Jean-Louis Triaud, who runs Château Gloria and was president of the Girondins de Bordeaux, among its local sons and daughters. Since 1979, Beychevelle has been twinned with Gaiole, an Italian commune in Tuscany.
