Raised on a hill, facing the plain of Canet, Raïssac and Saint-Nazaire, this village gives access to superb panoramas. Criss-crossed by the Aude and the Canal du Midi, Ventenac en Minervois has numerous banks which, depending on the season, welcome sportsmen, holidaymakers and picnic enthusiasts. At the exit of the town, in the direction of Sainte-Valière, the curious can admire the bridge-canal of the Répudre. Built between 1676 and 1680, it was the first work of art of this type erected by Pierre-Paul Riquet, the master builder of the Canal du Midi. The other jewel of Ventenac is its cooperative cellar, housed in the castle and its outbuildings. We guarantee you an unusual visit! At the foot of the cellar, the Marie-Thérèse, a traditional boat that was once used to transport wine, is still docked.
