This important wine-growing village, the center of the Minervois region, is located on the banks of the Argent Double river. It is thought to have been built around a castrum around the year 1000. Pleasant narrow streets, some of which conceal ancient houses, lead to the 12th-century Church of the Assumption, which owes its originality to its interior plan. It is a 14-sided regular polygon inscribed in a circle. In the middle stands a dome supported by 7 arcades resting on 7 columns 6.66 metres high, arranged in a circular fashion and defining the choir, whose diameter is equal to half the total diameter of the church. The symbolism of this symmetry? Wisdom.
