Near Saint-Emilion, the Relais de Gascogne has passed into the hands of René and Pauline Valade. As the regulars will tell you, everything is just as before, only better! Only the service team and the unbeatable prices have not changed. We now offer generous, home-cooked cuisine with a Relais menu at €16.50 (starter-main course-dessert + coffee and a quarter of wine)! Fancy an entrecôte? Choose the lunch option. What's more? There's a suggestion menu. Make the most of the lovely terraces in fine weather, and consider this address for your events.

Open Monday to Thursday, 6pm to 9:30pm; Monday to Friday, 6am to 2:30pm. Menu relais €16.50 (lunch and dinner); entrecôte formula €25 (lunch only); suggestion menu €20. Groups welcome. Terrace. Entertainment. Parking. Bar. Air-conditioning.

Owner's Message

This former Post Office located in the heart of the Saint-Emilion vineyard is a surprising place.

A key establishment in the region, it has seen generations and slices of history pass through it, changing over time. For nearly 40 years, it has proudly displayed the "Relais Routier" sign.

In March 2019, it is taken over by a couple of restaurant owners who have the will to give it a new lease of life. Some work to give this "beautiful lady" a warm atmosphere conducive to conviviality.

On the kitchen side, big change!! The prices do not change but the fresh and seasonal products arrive in force in the plates. Meaty dishes, scoundrels and gourmet dishes are served alongside the traditional entrecote steak of the house.

Finally, a Routier without an outstanding team, as we no longer do, cannot claim this appellation. Waitresses and cooks who know each other's habits, with a lot of cheek and a kindness to spare.

Then push the door and come and discover a traditional roadside restaurant.

Aren't the Relais routier a bit part of the French culinary heritage?!

Bon restaurant avec beaucoup de gentillesse de la part du personnel en général et très bon contacter par téléphone.
Restaurant qui n'est pas réservé qu'aux routiers, mais à tout le monde.
Je le recommande si vous passez entre Libourne et castillon la bataille.
