It is said to be the Venice of the Minervois. It must be said that Puichéric is bathed by 3 rivers: the Aude, the Canal du Midi and the Rigole de l'Étang de Marseillette. A specificity which has marked the history of the commune and offers picturesque landscapes punctuated by two locks. From the lock of Puichéric, the plane trees aligned along the canal accompany you through the vineyards of Puichéric. Following the canal, you pass under the old railroad bridge. The lock keeper of the second lock called "l'Aiguille" has carved some wooden works of art appreciated by boaters. A small stone bridge spans the canal near the center of the village. Many barges stop at this place. There is also an old wash house located between the stone bridge and the lock of the Aiguille where in the past the laundry was washed. You can also see on the banks, all along the canal, wooden fourcadelles from the Occitan language which means fork. These are usually good fishing spots The landscape and history of Puichéric are also marked by its castle. With its outcrop of building stones, the site attracted the attention of the Visigoths very early on. This rocky promontory gave its name to the village: Podium Theodorci Terrici" , the Pech de Théodoric (Theodoric's mountain), the name of a famous Goth prince. The castle hosted Paul Riquet, the father of the canal of the two seas. There are still some guest rooms
