This village, whose name comes from a Roman villa owned by Fabricius, a Roman legion soldier, is located in the Corbières, at the foot of the Alaric massif, on the banks of the Orbieu, a tributary of the Aude. It entered history in 947, and became part of the Viscounty of Narbonne in the 11th century. Between the 16th and 17th centuries, the De Seigneret family owned the seigneury of Fabrezan and Villerouge la Panouze. In 1842 Charles Cros was born, a future poet, friend of Rimbaud and Verlaine, also known for his research on photography and recording processes. Nowadays, the majestic plane trees of the avenues characterize Fabrezan, country of sun and vines
