Musée du Lauragais, located in Castelnaudary, organizes temporary and permanent exhibitions in the former cells

The Musée du Lauragais is housed in one of the town's most emblematic 16th-century monuments. It was Catherine de Médicis, Countess of Lauragais, who had the Présidial (civil and criminal court of justice) built right next to the château, when Castelnaudary became a sénéchaussée. Inside, visit the Saint-Pierre chapel, home to two superb 18th-century reliquaries. Discover the exhibition "Dans les Saveurs du Patrimoine: Le Cassoulet de Castelnaudary", or the temporary exhibitions in the former cells.

Installé dans un ancien présidial, perché dans les hauteurs de Castelnaudary, ce musée propose de petites expositions estivales, inégales selon les musées, mais qui valent néanmoins le détour !
