CONTAIN LIFE
They are craftsmen, engineers or designers, and draw inspiration from the old to create the new. Contain Life's multidisciplinary team, led by Jean-Baptiste, recycles abandoned maritime containers into ecological and alternative habitats. The feat requires many manufacturing steps. The containers thus saved from a long retreat are first carefully washed and decontaminated. The walls are sanded and stripped of rust and old paint and the openings - doors and windows made in France - are drilled before a new colour is applied. The cladding is made of wood from the nearby Black Mountain, and Corten steel plates - the same ones that cover the Soulages Museum in Rodez. The insulation is double (inside and outside), in order to guarantee optimal thermal resistance. With a surface area of less than 20 m2, the renovated container houses a living space, a bedroom and a bathroom. Mainly intended for recreational accommodation, it can also be used as a residential studio.
