The town of Saint-André-de-Cubzac stands out for its sublime Romanesque church, the oldest building in the commune, built by the Benedictine monks of the Grande-Sauve monastery in the 12th century. As you stroll through the town, you'll come across the house where Captain Cousteau was born, or the former Cordeliers cloister, built in 1626 on the orders of François de Sourdis, Archbishop of Bordeaux, and now home to the library, in an exceptional architectural setting. The former fishing port of Plagne has given way to a small marina where you can still meet Cubzénian shad and lamprey fishermen.
