The town of Sadirac has a centuries-old tradition of pottery, dating back to Gallo-Roman times. This tradition reached its apogee around 1744, when some one hundred and fifty potters were plying their trade in the town - almost half the population. The art of pottery has been the subject of extensive historical, ethnological and archaeological research, the results of which are on display in the museum. The Maison de la Poterie bears witness to an art that has survived the centuries. The pottery festival is held on the second weekend in June. The village of Sadirac is set in a veritable bosky bower.
