Located in the immediate vicinity of Versailles, Viroflay is home to 15,800 inhabitants who live in a verdant setting, with the town virtually surrounded by woods and forests, from the Fausses-Reposes forest to the north, to the Bois de Meudon to the south. This makes the commune one of the most densely wooded in the Petit Couronne, with 40% of its territory green. The 16th-century church of Saint-Eustache and the church of Notre-Dame-du-Chêne, built between 1960 and 1966, are well worth a visit. Last but not least, Viroflay has the distinction of being the only commune in France, outside the metropolises, to have three railway stations on its territory.
