LE CARRÉ AUX CRÊPES
Read moreOpened in 2004, the hotel has two dining rooms and a terrace on the sidewalk. As for the decoration, the walls are lined with Art-Deco posters on the theme… of Brittany, of course. The chef of this pancake house, Luc Roux, who undoubtedly fell into batter when he was a little boy, trained at École Nationale de Crêperie en Côtes-d 'Armor before taking up the Breton torch in one of the royal squares. He is the author of the book Le Tour du Monde des crêpes in which he reveals all his know-how and imagination to create excellent pancakes. The atmosphere is a good-natured one and the pancakes original, like the Basse Bretagne (scallops on a background of home-cooked vegetables), or the Endivette (endive with cream, smoked ham, roquefort, emmental, curry). When it comes to pancakes with wheat, a special mention for the Choc coco, with homemade coconut cream, vanilla ice cream and hot chocolate. Those who are younger will treat themselves to the famous Moussaillon crepe, garnished with homemade chocolate! In addition to the unmissable salted butter caramel, a selection of specifically Breton products enriches the menu: The Druid jelly and the dulce de leche with salted butter. Not to forget the wide selection of Breton drinks the restaurant offers: Val de Rance cider on draught, chouchen, Lancelot Breton beers, or beers of the nearby Chevreuse valley. A good address in the oldest quarter of Versailles. The quality-price ratio is good, especially for lunch.
