The church of Saint-Lambert-des-Bois, formerly dedicated to Saint Blaise, was consecrated to Saint Lambert in 1538, and its name was given to the village of Germainville in the early 18th century. The village's history is closely linked to that of Magny-les-Hameaux: in the Middle Ages, craftsmen worked for the nuns of the Port-Royal-des-Champs abbey. The village cemetery is home to a plot belonging to the nuns of Port-Royal. The village, its two hamlets (Vaumurier and la Brosse) and its two outlying areas (the Champ Garnier farm and the Clos Saint-Lambert houses) still contribute to the religious influence of today.
