10 km northwest of Paris, the town of Houilles extends over 441 ha. Its inhabitants, Ovillois, are nearly 32,000, making Houilles the tenth city of the department by its population. The municipality is divided into seven homogeneous neighborhoods where pavilions and gardens dominate. Victor Schoelcher, author of the decree abolishing slavery in France, is also famous for hosting the National Navy Command Center since 1945. The city, located halfway between Paris and Saint-Germain-en-Laye, is easily earned from the capital via RER and suburban trains.
