According to legend, a lord of the place would have played part of his field at the dice against that of Bellefontaine and would have lost… hence the narrowing of the municipality. This small village has preserved a lot of charm, to the point of being considered one of the best preserved in the country of France. The name plessis once indicated a fortified square: The plessis, from the Latin plexus, was originally a braided hedge hedge. We admire the church, built in the th century, and a curious calvary that réemploie a Roman milliaire.
