The name sounds like the title of a painting, mysterious and famous: Auvers-sur-Oise. It was Van Gogh who ensured the international fame of this village of light on the banks of the Oise. Supported by Dr. Gachet, he stayed there for seventy days and painted at least one canvas a day until his death in the Ravoux inn. This has been transformed into the "House of Van Gogh", and can be visited, just like the house of Dr. Gachet. Do not miss the church overlooking the village: it was the subject of one of the most famous paintings of the painter, who rests in the cemetery nearby, next to his brother Theo. The village is very busy in season.
