Undoubtedly, the name of the city reminds us of the huge airport platform, inaugurated a century ago, which is now one of the largest in Europe in this field. But Orly is also a long history, as when the city stood up to the English during the Hundred Years' War, and which offers some beautiful buildings for amateurs to see, such as the Saint-Germain-de-Paris church, classified as a Historic Monument. In the 1950s, the city literally exploded, covering itself with many large complexes. To the east of the city, the Grand-Godet sports park is one of the city's lungs. Well connected to the capital by the T7 tramway (a new line, the T9, should also connect Orly to the Porte de Choisy next year) and by the RER C, the city has just over 23,000 inhabitants.
