Several archaeological discoveries attest to the ancient occupation of this commune, which brings together the towns of Sivry and Courtry. Its name, derived from Severius, acum and curtis, refers to its agricultural vocation ("estate", "farm", "place cultivated by the plough"), an activity that developed here as early as Antiquity. Today, the commune boasts a rich heritage: 14th- and 19th-century Saint-Germain church, 12th-century Saint-Laurent chapel, washhouse, dovecote, remains of an ancient public fountain (source of the Ru de la Mardelle), farms and the Château de Courtry, offering beautiful exterior views as you visit.
