How far away is the small village of 400 inhabitants from the years 1980 ! With the development of the Disneyland Paris park, inaugurated in 1992, Serris has evolved into a modern city of more than 9,000 inhabitants with one of the largest shopping centres in Europe where a kind of second city centre has been established. The old town still exists, but at the opposite of the town and the hectic life of the commercial and tourist area. Its main point of interest is its large esplanade facing the RER station, the Place d'Ariane, which shares its perimeter with the neighbouring city, Chessy, also transformed since the arrival of the giant Disney.
