The commune of Mios is located in the middle of a forest, in the heart of the Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park. It is also located on the banks of the River Leyre. The commune is very large, with a population of almost 6,900 Miossais. Among the town's highlights is the 18th-century bell of the Saint-Brice chapel, a listed historic monument. The church of Saint-Martin was enlarged in the 19th century, but appears to date back to the 16th century. Mios is a commune with an exceptional natural heritage, ideal for walking and hiking. A guinguette is open in summer on the banks of the Leyre. It's an ideal place to relax in the heart of Parc Birabeille.
