THE LOUIS-PHILIPPE BRIDGE

Works of art to see
3/5
1 review

The version of the bridge that can be observed today dates back to 1860. A first version was built here in 1833 under the reign of King Louis-Philippe, hence his name. Following the increase in traffic, construction was adapted and strengthened. It is used to connect Saint-Louis Island to Saint-Gervais, which is located behind the City Hall. Among the beautiful details are beautiful metal rosaces surrounded by stone crowns, they are located on the top of its four pillars.

ART GALLERY ART GENERATION

Modern art

The Art Génération art gallery, located in Paris, was created in 2004 with the aim of making contemporary art more accessible. The founders wanted to showcase a hundred talented artists representing the diversity of contemporary creation, from painters and sculptors to street art and visual artists. The gallery offers a selection of contemporary paintings, photographs and sculptures at affordable prices. Its aim is to stimulate curiosity and the desire to become a collector. The artists presented are selected by an artistic committee, which detects young talent and also invites established artists to exhibit. The gallery also has an online store where works can be purchased. Art Génération also has other galleries in Lyon and La République.

The bridge of Sully bears the name of the great minister of Henri IV, Maximilian of Béthune duke of Sully. The book was inaugurated in 1877 and was designed by the engineers Vaudrey and Brosselin. It is 160 metres long and consists of three arches. The bridge is actually made up of two bridges built in the extension of each other. This rare iron book is located at the southern tip of Saint-Louis Island. It is occupied by the square Barye, a charming green space where you can make a stop during the walk.

MUSÉE DU FROMAGE

Specialized museum

Look out for the opening of the Musée Vivant du Fromage in Paris on June 3, 2024. At last, some would say, this gastronomic heritage will be celebrated in a way that lives up to its worldwide reputation. You'll have to wait a little longer (as we close this guide) to discover the site, but we can tell you that it will be divided into 3 distinct sections: first, the culture of cheese, then its manufacture, and finally its tasting. Open Tuesday to Sunday, the ticket office is already open!
