AIDES is an association that works throughout France, including Paris, to support HIV-positive people and those most vulnerable to HIV and hepatitis. Since its creation in 1984, AIDES has become the leading association in the fight against AIDS and hepatitis in France and Europe. It is recognized as a charitable organization and has been awarded the "donation en confiance" label by the Comité de la Charte. AIDES carries out prevention, screening, accompaniment and support activities, both on and off its premises. It also works to defend the rights of people living with HIV and against discrimination. AIDES offers free, local screening, carries out some 45,000 tests every year and detects over 5% of HIV-positive people. The association also implements research and experimentation projects to propose new methods of intervention and new tools.
