The Cité de la Musique brings together a variety of spaces: rehearsal rooms, a concert hall, an organology center, an amphitheater, a media library, a musicians' residence, a pedagogical institute, stores, a large café and the Musée de la Musique. The latter houses a collection of over 7,000 instruments. The scenography spans five centuries of Western and world music history. Temporary exhibitions are presented on a regular basis.
