The Canal Saint-Martin, which connects the basin of La Villette to the Seine, was built between 1805 and 1825. Its oldest sections are located at the level of the bridge of boulevard Morland, the Bastille Vaults and rue La Fayette. Several cruises are offered including that of "Vieux Paris", which combines navigation and sound and night light. It is an amazing journey: from the port of the arsenal, through the underground canals to emerge in the Paris of yesteryear, that of the film Hôtel du Nord, then Place Stalingrad, and towards La Villette. It's a condensed version of the most unforgettable places of the capital that you should absolutely visit. Finally, please note that booking is strongly recommended in the summer.

Located at the southern entrance of the park, the Great Hall, built around 1865-1867, hosts today large exhibitions, shows, music festivals... During the Olympic Games, the Paralympic weightlifting competitions will be held there. On the way there, you will find the Nubian Lions Fountain of 1811, located at the southern entrance of the park. Listed as a historical monument, it was first erected on the Place de la République and then transferred to La Villette in 1867.
