A square in Paris where the Barrière de Clichy once stood, with a statue in the middle

Just as the Place d'Italie stands where the barrière d'Enfer on the Fermiers Généraux wall used to be, so this square stands where the barrière de Clichy, another gateway through the wall, used to be. This gateway to Paris was fiercely defended by Marshal Moncey against Russian soldiers in 1814. The statue in the middle of this urban space pays tribute to him. The square underwent major redevelopment some ten years ago, to increase pedestrian traffic and limit the flow of cars.

Points d’intérêt sans intérêt... Rien de particulier à voir, donc intérêt culturel ou touristique proche du néant. De plus, desservit par l’horrible ligne 13 du métro qui est surpeuplée... il y a bien mieux à voir à PARIS

Je trouve que cette place est moins jolie qu´avant, plus tres propre et quand le temps est gris un peu deprimante. Juste le nom mythique m´y fait revenir de temps en temps.
