PALAIS DES CONGRÈS

Pop rock and variety concert hall
4/5
4 reviews

As its name indicates, the Palais des Congrès is a site where congresses and other events related to the economy are held. It was built for the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 1974, enlarged and renovated in 1999. With three thousand seven hundred and twenty-three squares, without balcony, its Grand Amphitheater is designed to ensure perfect visibility for all spectators. In addition to the major economic gatherings, musicals and musical standards are offered. In short, no punk, but safe values. Attention to motorists: the immense work of the RER E makes access sometimes painful.

KIOSQUE THEÂTRE TERNES

Box Office
4/5
1 review

Everyone knows the principle of these very popular kiosks, and for good reason: they allow you to go to the show for significantly reduced prices. The kiosk in Place des Ternes, which must be clearly distinguished from the flower merchants in the square, is open from Tuesday to Saturday, but be careful, plan to go as early as possible for two reasons: you could have the best prices, and then keep in mind that Place des Ternes is slightly off-centre, and that you could take a little time to reach your cultural place.

CINÉMA MAC MAHON

Cinma dart et essais
4/5
1 review

Mac Mahon is one of the most beautiful cinemas still in operation. Opened in 1938, the Parisians were able to discover in the Liberation of all American films that they had been deprived of during the occupation. The room won a very strong reputation. In the 50 s, we even talked about the band of the "Mac-Mahoniens", those who like Bertrand Tavernier or Patrick Brion visited the place with diligence. In 1959, Les Cahiers du Cinéma took over the Mac-Mahoniens manifesto, which clamaient loud and clear: " staging on the scenario ". The culmination of this golden age: in Jean-Luc Godard's classic "A Bout de Souffle", many scenes are filmed in the Mac-Mahon. After a difficult period in the 80 s, cinema is still a place of worship dedicated to the great American classics. It was the Bolloré group that began a lot of work in the 2000 s.

Cinema
3.7/5

If you love movies and particularly personnal movie, rendez-vous at the famous Cinéma des Cinéastes that shines with a thousand light opposite Pathé Wepler of place Clichy. We find abundant offers of great cinema classics as well as the latest news, previews and programmes for young children. It is not for nothing that some first year classes of kindergarten travel through Paris just to come and watch some classics and new movies. On the floor of the theatre, there is a very pleasant restaurant and bar which offers a selection of very good wines. The History of Cinéma des Cinéastes is huge. In the 19th century, the establishment was the cabaret of Père Lathuille before becoming Le Kursaal visited by Maurice Chevalier. Abandoned after 1945, the cinema was updated with new colours during the prosperous period of the Nouvelle Vague. But it was in 1987, thanks to Claude Berri in the Civil Society of Auteurs, Réalisateurs et Producteurs (L'ARP), that the establishment became an unavoidable place for movie lovers. Three rooms make up this theatre including the great, absolutely beautiful one, referring to the heyday of the Seventh Art.

Other notable productions: The two-head Eagle, from Jean Cocteau with Edwige Feuillère and Jean Marais, Les Juste, by Albert Camus, with Serge Reggiani, Green Queen, Maurice Béjart comédie with Maria Casarès and Jean Babilée, this strange animal, Gabriel Arout, according to Tchékhov, with Delphine Seyrig and Jean Rochefort.

After Jacques Hébertot's death in 1970, Jean-Claude Brialy was run in the theatre. In 2003, Danièle and Pierre Franck were at his head. At the end of 2013 Francis Lombrail became the new theatre director.

Among the pieces that have been seen in recent years, note: Less 2, of Samuel Benchetrit with Jean-Louis Trintignant, stage exit, of Nicolas Bedos, with Guy Bedos, The King is dying, of Eugène Ionesco…

Note that the room was renovated in 2010. The second room, the Petit Hébertot, is led by Xavier Jaillard.

LE CINÉMA DES CINÉASTES

Childrens show

A cartoon or animated film is waiting throughout the year, the youngest (from 3 or 5, depending on the projected work) only in the morning. This is the only time for toddlers, which is more than good when few Parisian cinemas are interested in these budding enthusiastic. 6 € the place for a child surprises a little, but why not… For the larger ones, this Art and Trial film releases many authors'films. Want a drink or a light meal then? The place of the place exempts a bistro. A little dark and small for the smaller, maybe. And no child menu in sight… Shame!

ODÉON – ATELIERS BERTHIER

Theater

A four-hundred-and-a-half-room hall, Ateliers Berthier hosted the Odéon shows for three years, the time to work in the venerable 6 th arrondissement hall. Since 2005, they have formed the second area of creation of the latter. His loft aesthetics have nothing to do with the majesty of father's theatre, but it is precisely that. The construction of these workshops made of brick, stone stone and metal is the responsibility of architect Charles Garnier. They were put into service in 1898, for a century, for the benefit of the Paris Opera - built by the same Garnier - and included design stores.

L’EUROPÉEN

Pop rock and variety concert hall

Walls and red armchairs arranged in a circle: L'Européen is the perfect setting for listening to artists in the field of French chanson, world music, jazz or rock. The 350-seat venue is a former café-concert dating back to 1872: Fragson, Yvette Guilbert and Edith Piaf all performed here. In the 1950s, operettas were performed here. It was also home to the Théâtre en Rond, run by directors and actors keen to return to the original Greek forms of theater - an aesthetic "opposed" to Italian-style theater.
