LA TOQUE CUIVRÉE - CANELÉS DE BORDEAUX

Bread cakes chocolates ice cream
3.8/5
26 reviews
Closed - Open to 06h30

A true emblem of Bordeaux, the Canelé is a delicacy that dates from the 16th century. It is a pastry made of flour, eggs, milk, vanilla and rum... at first sight, nothing very extravagant you might say ! However, it is a real challenge, when you try to prepare them yourself, to succeed in the feat of obtaining a soft Canelé inside and crispy outside. Good news, you can put away your silicone molds! It is in the respect of the traditions that the Canelés are made! Big Canelés at 70 centimes each, Lunch Canelés at 50 centimes or Bite-sized Canelés at 40 centimes: the choice is yours, depending on your appetite and, above all, your sweet tooth! You can even be tempted by other specialties such as tourtières or caramels with Canelés chips! If you are not on the spot and you wish to make discover the Canelé to your close relations, know that you can order on line and that you will be delivered under 24 hours! During the holiday season, we recommend that you order from your local store.

LES VOLONTAIRES DU VRAC

Bulk grocery
4.7/5
6 reviews

The name is really well found. Volontaires, because this organic and eco-responsible store is located near the eponymous metro station, and for the proactive, militant side. And bulk, because here, no pasta in 500g packets or almonds in plastic bags... Everything is in bulk. Finally, the maximum of possible references. Besides fruits, vegetables and fresh products, Imane also offers everyday products (cosmetics, drugs...). More widely, she encourages her customers to consume well and better, in particular by organizing workshops.

ÉPICERIE BOC'S

Organic store
5/5
1 review

It's often like that. Since they couldn't find a store that suited them, Anne-Laure and Sophie decided to open their own outlet: Boc's. An "eco-responsible neighborhood grocery store". It was a quick success, as the store, with its design look, has already been enlarged. Here, there is no wastefulness, the emphasis is on bulk, zero waste, organic and local products... and quality of course. On the stalls, fruits and vegetables, cereals, juices, jams, beer, meat, hygiene and cleaning products... The house also proposes to the customers to deposit their compost, empty glass jars and other egg boxes. Amazing!

ANTOINE

Bakery
4.5/5
4 reviews

Is it because of the elegant grey color of the front or because of the name - Antoine - written in large letters above the window, in any case, this bakery-pastry shop immediately caught our eye and titillated our curiosity. The welcome is smiling, and the breads are of high quality, as are the pastries (seasonal fruit pies, chocolate cakes, lightnings...). For lunch, the house offers different options for a quick lunch at the office. A selection of gourmet products are also on sale: La Gosse lemonades, Bovetti spreads, Patrick Fonte nectars…

In the Lejeune family, fish have been around for three generations. Damien, Best Worker in France, is in charge of this fish market. With the help of his team, he selects the fish in the morning at Rungis. You will find here a beautiful display of fish, shellfish, shellfish, ready-made meals as well as fishmongers with small onions with the customers. Do not hesitate to ask them for advice, for example for cooking. At the end of the year, the oyster bank is fabulous.

MARCHÉ CONVENTION

Market
3.3/5
3 reviews

A vast or rather long market on a street where many shops (perfumeries, bookshops...) are open on Sunday mornings. Stalls can be found on both sides of rue de la Convention, between the crossroads with rue de Vaugirard and rue de l'Abbé Groult. The narrow sidewalks make it difficult to get around, and many locals bring their families, baby carriages and carts to the market. And don't forget that some of the shops sell only organic produce.

BOUCHERIE MARGUERITE

Butchery
2/5
1 review

Alain Grandière is the director of this Marguerite butcher shop, an establishment that combines quality butchery and mini-market. Son of a butcher, he perpetuates the family know-how after having travelled around the world in search of the best meats at a younger age. Here, the meat (beef, pork, poultry...), prepared and cut on site, is put into trays in the morning and the customer serves himself on the shelves. Only the delicatessen is not self-service. For beef, for example, the company offers Irish Cut, a meat of Irish origin, known for its organoleptic qualities. A few frozen products, wine, organic bread, milk and delicatessen complete the offer.

ARCHIBALD

Bakery

Archibald didn't choose the busiest area to set up in the 15th arrondissement - there are already outlets in the5th, 16th and 17th arrondissements. This organic bakery has set up shop near the Vaugirard library. But that doesn't detract from the quality of the breads, described as "natural and bold". Bold and unmistakably natural, using only additive-free organic flours, water, salt and natural sourdough. The range is varied: from Petit épeautre to Parisien, including a surprisingly compact Riz sarrasin.

PANADE

Patisserie

Merouan Bounekraf has a sense of humor. We had already noticed it by watching season 10 of "Top Chef" where he was one of the candidates. You can see it again when you list the creations he offers to the customers of his bakery-pastry shop: the "Haut comme 33 pommes" and "Framboyante" tarts, the "Blackguette" (a traditional baguette with malt flour smoked with beech wood), the "Avocat commis d'office" tartine, just to name a few. But the list is long. Humor, but also and above all talent!

MARCHÉ GRENELLE

Market

It's certainly one of the capital's most important markets (although its location has since been moved, it's the historic market in the village of Grenelle, a commune incorporated into Paris in 1860). The stalls are spread around a single alley beneath the aerial metro between La Motte-Piquet and Dupleix. Handy when it rains! On Sunday mornings, it's all the rage, and you have to elbow your way through. Four-season merchants, fishmongers, butchers, delicatessens, cheesemongers, patissiers, numerous organic stalls..

LA MAISON DES CYCLADES

Mediterranean grocery

The House of Cyclades is that of Maja and Gregory whose family is originally from the island of Serifos, in the... Cyclades. This is where the adventure began in 2015. Because, since then, they have opened other catering stores, in the 17th and 20th arrondissements and in Levallois-Perret. From tarama to grilled peppers, through dolmades (vine leaves) and octopus salad; from moussaka to meatballs, through stuffed eggplant and marinated chicken skewers, not to mention the pastries: everything here exudes freshness and authenticity. On the grocery side, there is a nice selection of olives, olive oils and wines. Possibility to have lunch on the spot.

LA MAISON DE LA MOZZARELLA

Specialized grocery

The story of La Maison de la Mozzarella began in 2014, on rue Violet in the 15th arrondissement. It was there that the Rosa brothers, Neapolitans, created the very first Italian artisanal (and daily) mozzarella production workshop in Paris. To do this, they bring in buffalo milk from Campania, their native region. With their success, they opened a grocery store on rue de Lourmel in 2019. Fans will find there, in addition to mozzarellas, burratas and other scamorzas, Neapolitan products and homemade dishes, with mostly organic raw materials.

In other words, products without added nitrites, additives or allergens. Lovers of good food will appreciate it! Everything at his place makes you salivate: the head cheese, the pie, the terrines, the sausages, the salads and quiches... The house also does catering. Good news, Florian, Pascal's son, is here to take over.

NATURENVILLE

Organic store

This brand, with a poetic name, is progressively extending its presence in Paris (and in the suburbs, since it has opened a store in Levallois-Perret and in Chaville). The prices charged here are rather attractive, the principle being to work directly with the producers. The fruits and vegetables offered - the choice is extensive - are almost all organic, those that are not come from a responsible agriculture. Also on sale, at least in this point of sale just in front of the Saint-Lambert square: cheese, eggs and wine.
