Dungeon and cinema

The castle of Vaux-le-Vicomte invites spectators to immerse themselves in the backstage of the film shoots until 5 November. We discover the costumes of the Versailles series or the film Marie-Antoinette by Sofia Coppola. Shooting secrets, "special effect" make-up workshop to take wrinkles; reconstructions of Moonraker or Raid Dingue sets and poster displays will be part of the event.

The famous Mogador Theatre in Paris reopens its doors in the autumn and it is the most popular of all musicals that will make its walls resonate: Grease! Created in 1971, the timeless show is back! Following a fire, the Mogador was refurbished and expanded, offering a unique experience from September 28.

Life of Gauguin

Born in Lima, Paul Gauguin has a taste for travel. His works are a powerful blend of various influences: Catholic liturgy, Polynesian reveries, symbolism and impressionism. An exhibition from 11 October to 22 January at the Grand Palais retraces the surprising career of the leader of the École de Pont Aven, considered to be a precursor of modern art.

French icon

A deep and inimitable voice behind a gironde look, Barbara is this eternal great lady of French song, 20 years after her death. The exhibition of the Philharmonie de Paris lifts the veil on this melancholic and free woman who decided very early on that the show would be her life. Between photographs and unpublished documents, we (re)discover the singer until January 28.

Noble portraits

We plunge into the heart of the diplomatic intrigues of the 17th century with the Rubens exhibition at the Musée du Luxembourg. Scholarly and appreciated by the courts of Europe, this immense portrait painter in spite of himself - he preferred historical subjects - represented the greatest of his time. Philippe IV, Marie de Médicis are to be met until January 14.

Movie Secrets

Because Halle Saint-Pierre welcomes those who walk so well out of the woodwork, the duo formed by marc Caro and Jean-Pierre Jeunet will stay until July 2018 near the Sacré-Cœur garden where Nino Quincampoix was chasing Amélie. Pop America

The collection of the Whitney Museum of Amercian Art in New York stops at the Maillol Museum in Paris from September 22 to January 21. It is a true anthology of 20th century American art presented, from Pop Art, to monumental sculptures and canvases, to silkscreens. Big names: Jasper Johns, Andy Warhol, Alex Katz, roy Lichtenstein... and other lesser known artists to discover.
