The art of Nepal occupies a place of first rank within the arts of the Himalayan world. The exhibition Nepal, Art of the Kathmandu Valley, brings together some 90 works from the collections of the Musée National des Arts Asiatiques-Guimet and from French public collections. Reunited for the first time, it covers a long period from the 10th to the 19th century. The public discovers drawings, photographs, miniatures, Nepalese ritual objects of Buddhist and Hindu obedience and sculptures in bronze and wood. An art that found its impetus in India but which acquired its originality in Nepal and then spread to Tibet and the imperial court of China. An exhibition that is sure to make the spirits travel.
