It is one of the richest municipalities in France, and mainly known as such. Neuilly-sur-Seine, hyphen between the chic West Parisian and Defence, is bordered by the Seine, to the west, and by the Bois de Boulogne, to the south. A succession of residential and chic neighbourhoods (Bagatelle-Saint James-Madrid, Sablons, park or bridge areas), the city is also extremely dynamic, both commercially and economically, with the presence of several major groups. Cut almost in its middle by Charles de Gaulle Avenue, whose cover is a sea snake for many years, Neuilly-sur-Seine is rich in a historical past. A treaty with the name of the city was signed in 1919 between the allies and Bulgaria following the Treaty of Versailles. In another register, for almost a century and until the 1970 s, the city had intense activity in the area of perfumery: what other industry could settle in such a chic commune? Today, with about 60 000 inhabitants, a stable figure for 30 years, Neuilly-sur-Seine deserves a detour.
