Lesparre is a sub-prefecture of the Gironde department with a population of 5,826, located inland, equidistant from the river and ocean, 60 kilometers northwest of Bordeaux, 20 kilometers northwest of Pauillac and some 30 kilometers southeast of Le Verdon-sur-Mer. However, thanks to its central location, the town is a good base from which to explore the Médoc hinterland, its vineyards and its monuments. If you'd like to explore the town further, don't miss the monthly open-air markets and the famous wine fair held during the first week of August.
