Originally hamlet of Saint-Cloud, Marnes has been known since the beginning of the thirteenth century. The quality of life of this bourgeois village surrounded by forests and parks is worth the nickname "the Coquette". With just over 1,700 inhabitants, it is the least populated municipality of the Hauts-de-Seine. Almost two thirds of its territory is now occupied by state forests. A few minutes from Paris, the country's living and coveted living environment has been the backbone of personalities and stars: Louis Pasteur, Maurice Chevalier or Jean Marais, for example. Note that the municipality is the starting point for beautiful walks and houses the famous Haras de Jardy.
