PARK ROGER SALENGRO

Parks and gardens

This 2,7 hectare park was called to 1937 Description Park in the name of the widow of the composer Léo Delibes, before being renamed the name of the Minister of the Popular Front. Opened to the public in 1897, this green space was expanded and opened in 1910 by the former mayor of Clichy, Louis Gaudier. It is a pleasant place to walk in the heart of the city, just a few metres away from the metro, with a piece of water and shady alleys, where it makes good strolls. There are beautiful statues offered by the General Council, and young people will benefit from the playground.

This neo-classical theatre bears the name of a th-century poet, whose statue can be seen in the hall. At the beginning of the th century, the place is a ballroom built by the architects Pierre and Louis Guidetti. The space will be built in theatre only in 1990, when the last theatre in the city closed its doors. Previously, there was a police station, a library and a conservatory of music. The site today welcomes the public for various shows: this year, weekends with jazz sounds and countless theatrical performances are on the agenda.

SPRING WAREHOUSES

Contemporary architecture

Edifiés by architects Popinot and All between 1908 and 1910, Spring warehouses testify to the city's industrial activity at the beginning of the th century. The concrete structure is designed by François Hennebique, while Ceramist Alexander Bigot focuses on the exterior decoration of the building. Located in 1905 on the Haussmann Boulevard in Paris, the Spring Store Company opens an annex to Clichy which will serve as a shop and storage warehouse. The left part of the building was added in 1923 by the architects Demoisson and Wybo. With its glass and metal structure, the building is a fine example of Art-Deco architecture and is easily recognized. Note that the local tourist office proposes to know more about this building.
