Clamart used to have many vineyards in addition to its famous peas. Today, the rue des Vignes, the ruins of vineyards and the way of Vines testify to the presence of the 110 ha of vineyards in the early th century. It then produces 1 650 hectolitres per year. In 1902, phylloxera and competition from the wines of Midi caused its Decline. But the tradition of vine culture persists in suburban flags. In 1986, the municipality encouraged the population to bring its grapes, bunches were crushed and pressurées in the municipal greenhouses and the harvest of 23 September 1986 gave rise to Clos de Clamart, a rosé and light wine, fruit of several grape varieties, baco, Chasselas and Muscat in Hamburg. On 23 April 1989, the municipal vine was planted in an old fence from rue Pierre-Franquet, giving rise to the white wine called «Clos de Franquet». The barn of the Clos, located opposite the municipal vine, serves as a museum to display tools of wine growers. Wine is for its part stored in the Abraham cellars of the barn.
