Having recently passed the 20,000 inhabitants mark for the first time, and for an area of 182 hectares (which makes it one of the smallest municipalities in the Hauts-de-Seine), Bourg-la-Reine is above all a residential city. Many personalities know or have known the pleasant atmosphere and the "village" spirit of the city. Some, such as Joseph Kessel and Albert Camus, came for short stays; others resided there until the end of their lives, such as André-Charles Péguy or, closer to us, the publisher Albin Michel and the psychoanalyst Françoise Dolto. Connected to Paris by the RER in about ten minutes, the city is committed to a sustainable development approach, with various actions for a better respect of the environment. Its city centre, which is largely pedestrianised, is very pleasant.
