Surrounded by the communes of Otterswiller and Thal-Marmoutier, Haegen lies to the northwest of Saverne, the largest town nearby. The Zorn river, the Marne-Rhine canal and the Rosselbach stream flow through the village. It's an ideal starting point for nature lovers looking for outdoor activities. A number of hiking trails radiate out from the village, leading either to the plain on one side or to the forest on the other. From here, it's easy to reach the ruined castles of Petit and Grand Geroldseck, the witches' table or the Brotsch tower and rock, for a few hours' walking in prospect!
