Nova villa, in Gallo-Roman, the new rural estate made a name for itself in the 12th century, as did many of the villages in the area, after the Anglo-Scandinavian settlement in the Pays de Caux. The Saint-Gilles church has preserved parts of this period, despite alterations in the 16th and 19th centuries. The park of the Château de Filières is partly on the municipal estate. The church bell was donated by one of the owners of the castle in 1923. The wind blows differently here, as well as at Les Trois-Pierres and La Cerlangue: a little further east, the chalk plateau will be cut off towards Lillebonne, the ancient Juliobona from which the roads to Harfleur and Etretat departed, and further on, Bolbec, with its strong Norse name. Hikers can follow the circuit of Filières (8.5 km, 2 hours).
