Is there a more charming village at the tip of the Pays de Caux than Pierrefiques? Nestled on a hill, the small church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste is the cute expression, if one dared to write it that way. Its nartex also supports its bell that rings in the valley below. At the back of the place of worship, a small wooden high altar painted in grey is surmounted by a false starry sky from a pious 19th century image. At the chevet of the church the fields extend towards the wooded valleys. As we descend towards the village of Le Vauchel, on the road to Etretat, the shade of trees and undergrowth softens the road... It is a fragile, calm and quiet little jewel that Pierrefiques.
