Orival's chalk cliffs are home to Mediterranean and alpine vegetation, making them a veritable reservoir of biodiversity under the watchful eye of the Conservatoire des sites naturels de Haute-Normandie. Semi-troglodytic houses known as "de la roche Foulon", which until the early 20th century were home to the weavers of Elbeuf, are still visible: traces of staircases and old chimney flues can be seen, vestiges of the life that once filled the rocks. A section of the GR2 will take you to the caves, where you'll discover the remains of a Gallo-Roman temple (2-hour walk).
