A small fishing and trading port at the gateway to the Bay of the Somme, Le Tréport has been a listed seaside resort since 1960, offering its residents and tourists year-round entertainment. Much appreciated by Parisians, who come here practically as neighbors - it's the closest coastal town to the capital - the town's first seafront villas were built in the mid-19th century. All that remains of the Belle Époque are a few villas, but the cliffs and funicular railway are still there to offer visitors a grandiose spectacle. With its fishermen's quarter and beach, the area is well worth a summer visit.
