The name Gournay-en-Bray comes from two Celtic words: gord, meaning "heap of water", and nawd, meaning "dwelling". Bordering Rollon's territory, the town was fortified in the 11th century and entrusted to his companion, Eudes. Today, it is part of the Communauté de Communes des Quatre Rivières and offers a wide range of activities.
