Fontaine-la-Mallet has existed since the 11th century. Its name refers both to the springs on its territory and to the fact that, for a time, the Mallet de Graville family, a local lordly family, was the suzerain. The church and its presbytery were built in 1954, according to the plans of the architect Serge Zoppi. Situated on the hillside above the main road, one can see the chevet and the adjoining bell tower, to which a flight of steps leads upwards, all made of red brick and local white flint. The hiking trail "le Bassin des vallées" (12 km, 3 h) starts from the city and leads to the memorial of the battle of Le Havre.
