In this village was discovered in 1850 a mérovingien cemetery, proof that its stand is ancient. Henri IV stopped two days in Envermeu in September 1589 before going to the battle of Arques. The city adopted the coat of arms of William-le-Conqueror's Lords Hugues and Turold in the th century. Around his church, the pedestrian alleys and the south-facing town hall are set in a pleasant atmosphere. This pleasant village was served until 1939 by a tortillard, unfortunately now out of service.
