Travel Guide Beaurepaire

Beaurepaire, like other neighbouring municipalities, has a strong history with the English occupation. Its church is dedicated to Saint Thomas of Cantorbery, the famous Thomas Beckett. As the crow flies, we are only 3 km from the sea and yet still well inland: charming valleys can be guessed nearby, whose autumn colours have fantastic palettes. In fact, two adventurers left Beaurepaire from Beaurepaire: Nicaise Ruault, evangelizer of the Sandwich Islands in the Southern Antilles, at the end of the 19th century, and Doctor Jouenne, a member of Edmond Caron's mapping expedition to Timbuktu in 1887.
